Riverbend designs Vendor #12

My Story

My Story

I've been fascinated by the art of stained glass since childhood when I use to stare in wonder at the colourful windows in my great grandmother's century home.  Twenty years ago I finally took the plunge and enrolled in a stained glass workshop where I proudly made my first creation.

My Story

Originally from Ancaster, my husband and I fell in love with the Huron area when we purchased our family cottage just outside of Bayfield many years ago.  As we reached retirement, all of Huron's beauty drew us here full-time.

My Story

Now we live along the winding Bayfield River in Egmondville where I draw my inspiration from the nature and beauty that surrounds us every day.  Riverbend Designs lovingly pairs birds, butterflies, bonfires, sunsets and sailboats with driftwood and shoreline rocks, bringing peace, harmony and creativity to your home.

Our Story

Hi all, I am Jen with Maple Lane Pottery.  My journey began back in 2020 when I sustained a head injury that became life altering from my professional career.  In the summer of 2023 I tried my hand at pottery.  I took lessons and started with hand building and eventually tried the wheel, where I found a new passion to enjoy.

I now have my own wheel and kiln.  The process continues to be a learning curve, but also an adventure.  I have found pottery to be very humbling and mindful.  Currently my work is made with speckled clay.  I am exploring different glazes and the various combinations with mixing them.

Our Story

Creating pieces brings me joy and has provided me with a new purpose.  My pottery isn't always perfect, but i'm hoping you enjoy my pieces as much as much as I love making them for you!

Through trial and error and lots of dotting time, the results are what you see before you.  I am fascinated by the beauty of color and the effects that thousands of dots and a few swooshes can have on different patterns and designs.  It truly is a unique art form.
